Born and raised in Acapulco where he continues to live and work. Almenara presents us with a body of work of rare dexterity and beauty. It is obvious at first glance that the artist is a master at his craft; the deft brush strokes leave us with a picture plain smooth as silk . The color palette is subtle. The fact that he is a master draftsman is obvious; one cannot achieve such work without strong and talented drawing hand.

Now that Mexico seems to have caught up in a big way with the international avantgarde movements which sacrifices the figurative, per-se, for the purely conceptual, it is wonderful that Mexico, once again, produces a young artist dedicated to the enchantment of beauty. No messages are needed; the eye can delight in the delicate harmony of Abel Almenara´s paintings.
