Carlos Abascal was born in Oaxaca City, 1986. He was first introduced to the art world by being a collector himself and later on by helping a friend running his art gallery.  As a self taught artist he developed a passion for ceramic, which is where he finds the knowledge and the answers in a meditative state of mind.

It's no surprise that Abascal´s favorite media is clay. His deep respect for Mother Earth and the environment took him to discover the millenary technique called "Raku" which combines the 4 elements believed to be essential for life: earth, wind, fire and water. In Abascal´s artworks we find ourselves and the place where we belong: the clay.
