ABOUT

Jaime Anzures Morones (Mexico City 1955 - 2019). He studied Sculpture at the "La Esmeralda" INBA. Specializing in the National School of Plastic Arts of the UNAM and in the technique of porcelain sculpture in Japan.

 

He has more than 90 individual exhibitions, both pictorial and sculptural in different materials that have taken him throughout the Mexican Republic, Ontario, Quebec, Seattle, Washington, Houston, Tucson, Puerto Rico, where he was declared a Distinguished Guest in Panama and Bulgaria. Among his many collaborations, he has executed the Relief of the Facade of the New Legislative Palace of the Mexican Government and the Sculptural Solution in reliefs of three models for the city of Sofia, Bulgaria.

 

He was distinguished by the Mexican Institute of Culture and CONACYT as the best student of his generation and awarded with the "Rigoberta Menchú" recognition medal.

 

He has more than 32 years of professional experience as a painter and sculptor, he spent his last days living in the Xochimilco Delegation in Mexico City, since he was born there. He has also exhibited in Puerto Rico and Canada and traveled with President Felipe Calderón to the city of Seattle, in the United States, where he was recognized for his work. His work has also been exhibited at the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City.
